Warehouse Manager

Job Overview:

Our client, a globally recognised freight forwarder based near Heathrow, is seeking an experienced professional for an exciting new leadership role in their logistics operations. This position will be pivotal in managing the seamless function of three warehouses, working closely with managers, supervisors, and warehouse operatives to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations Management:

• Oversee and ensure the smooth running of three warehouses dedicated to general freight, projects, and distribution.

Team Leadership:

• Manage and guide three warehouse managers, along with their teams of supervisors and operatives, ensuring effective coordination and workflow.

Client & Partner Relationships:

• Maintain strong working relationships with clients and transportation providers to support efficient logistics and service delivery.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure all operations comply with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations and industry standards.

Operational Efficiency:

• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, minimise delays, and optimise resource utilisation.

Customs Bonded Warehouse Management:

• Oversee the operations of customs-bonded warehouses, ensuring compliance and smooth processes for goods under customs control.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting:

• Regularly monitor operational performance and create reports to support data-driven decision-making.

Human Resources Management:

• Handle HR tasks such as monitoring attendance, arranging holiday cover, recruiting and training staff, and tracking employee performance.

Skills & Experience Required:

• 8+ years of experience in freight forwarding, with strong knowledge of the industry and managing the day-to-day running of warehouse operations
• In-depth understanding of CAA legislation and the ability to ensure compliance within a logistics environment.
• Proven experience in managing large teams and overseeing multiple warehouse operations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster relationships with internal teams, clients, and transportation providers.
