The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that enables data collection, storage, and processing at scale. This role involves developing and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data is clean, reliable, and accessible for analysis.


The Data Engineer will work closely with data analysts, integration specialists, and other stakeholders to implement data solutions that support business intelligence and objectives.


They also manage and monitor data systems, ensuring performance, security, and scalability, while continuously improving processes to handle evolving data requirements within the organisation.


Your next challenge:

  • Oversee the maintenance, upgrades, and continuous improvement of existing Power BI models to ensure accuracy, relevance, and performance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain standardised Power BI models to support dashboards and reports that provide clear, actionable insights to support business objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance data pipelines and data warehouses, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders at all levels to gather and clarify requirements for new data requests, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Effectively and promptly communicate findings and opportunities to relevant stakeholders, driving informed decision-making across the organisation.
  • Conduct ad-hoc data analysis in collaboration with data analysts, to deliver actionable insights and timely support to business stakeholders, ensuring informed decision-making and alignment with organisational objectives


Accountabilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures that enable efficient data collection, processing, and storage to support analytics and business intelligence needs.
  • Ensure the integrity, quality, and security of data across the organization by implementing robust data validation, monitoring, and governance practices.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver optimized data solutions that align with business objectives and support advanced analytics initiatives.



You're a match


  • Degree level educated or Equivalent technology/data qualifications
  • Previous experience – 5+ years of experience in a data analysis, SQL development or data engineering.
  • Strong skills in database architecture, design, and complex SQL.
  • Experience with Microsoft SSRS, SSIS, Power BI, MySQL, SQL Server, REST APIs and Azure Data Factory.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and query performance tuning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and reconciliation desirable.
