Salary: Up to £60,000/annum

Company: Automotive Tooling Supplier (SME/start-up environment)

Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic automotive tooling customer in Portsmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key role within their expanding company, which works closely with automotive OEMs and 1st tier suppliers. You’ll be responsible for managing the full supply chain, including overseeing significant stock imports from China and ensuring quick turnarounds in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full supply chain management, including long-term forecasting and stock management.
• Overseeing sea freight and air freight, managing an extensive shipping budget.
• Direct communication and collaboration with Chinese suppliers, ensuring seamless import processes.
• Working closely with the in-house assembly team in Portsmouth to meet complex customer demands.
• Developing and implementing efficient logistics strategies to support the company's operations and growth.
• Collaborating with the Warehouse Manager to streamline inventory and order fulfilment processes.
• Handling mixed parts and MOQs, with the ability to adapt to changing OEM plans.
• Regular interaction with the senior leadership team to ensure business continuity and progress.
• Occasional travel, though not extensive.

Ideal Candidate:

• Automotive / ex-military background with experience in dealing with OEMs / 1st tier suppliers.
• Proven experience in international logistics, particularly working with suppliers in China.
• Expertise in sea freight and air freight management, with a strong understanding of global shipping logistics.
• Experience in managing complex supply chains with multi-layered customer demands.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle last-minute changes and quick turnarounds.
