POSITION: Head of Production // Head Brewer
LOCATION: Glasgow, Scotland
HOURS: 40 hours per week across 4/5 shifts, Mon-Fri
PAY: £31,000 per annum
START DATE: FT in January 2025 // Internal Training + Handover in November/December 2024
THE ROLE:
As the Head of Production, you will be the hands-on leader driving our production process, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and sustainability. This role demands a proactive approach, where you'll actively engage in all stages of production, from raw material acquisition to the dispatch of our finished products. A proven track record in a leadership role within drinks production is essential, with valuable experience in industries such as kombucha, wine, beer, and spirits. Experience with maintaining SALSA standards is also essential.
This position is ideal for someone eager to grow and develop with us as we aim to double in size over the next 6-12 months. Due to the forecasted growth, we are looking to bring on 2x new hires simultaneously to first gain confidence, then develop confidence in Soft Drink Production before a busy Spring and Summer in 2025.

Our journey of growth and innovation requires ambitious, committed, and talented team members, starting with the heart of our operations—our production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out and supervise production from start to finish: Oversee every aspect of the production process, from raw materials acquisition to canning and dispatch. Act as the first point of contact for any production issues.
- Create prep, blending, carbonation, and pasteurization schedules: Manage efficient production processes, ensuring all stages are optimized for quality and efficiency.
- Leadership and responsibility: Demonstrate acute awareness of responsibility, leadership, and a track record of problem-solving and implementing new processes.
- Collaborate with the founder: Work closely to formulate recipes for large-scale production runs, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Quality assurance and scaling production: Play a significant role in maintaining high production standards and scaling operations efficiently.
- New Product Development (NPD): Formulate new recipes and collaborate on NPD projects and client work.
- Problem-solving and adaptability: Manage juice movement throughout the unit, addressing issues related to production goals, raw materials, or mechanical challenges with a 'can-do' attitude.
- Supplier management: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers of raw materials, packaging, and equipment.
- Continual improvement philosophy: Constantly seek ways to enhance efficiency and product quality, troubleshooting any production process issues.
- Staff supervision and development: Oversee staff performance, developing training and mentorship programs to enhance skills and productivity.
Necessary Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven track record in a leadership role within drinks production, with hands-on experience
- Experience in related industries such as kombucha, wine, beer, and spirits production
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Expertise in running a production line and implementing quality assurance schemes
- Experience in canning and knowledge of HACCP, SALSA, and regulatory programs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in digital tools, including ERP/MRP systems, Google Drive, and Excel
- Personable, approachable, and able to maintain positive workplace morale
- Strong understanding of process controls and organizational skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong work ethic and the ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Physically fit and able to work in a demanding environment
- Relevant experience managing a start up, brewery or drinks production line
