MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a retail business, on the search for Commercial Finance Manager. This is a permanent role based in Manchester.

The Role

As the Commercial Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the business by providing insightful analysis and partnering with senior leadership to drive performance across key business units.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing financial expertise to influence decision-making, deliver robust financial forecasting, and support business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) for the eCommerce division, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
• Partner with commercial teams to provide financial insight and guidance on key business initiatives, promotions, and strategic investments.
• Develop financial models to evaluate business opportunities and deliver recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Monitor financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities to improve profitability.
• Support the development of pricing strategies, promotional activities, and margin management.
• Deliver regular financial reports and presentations to senior management and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, governance, and external regulations.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team on month-end close processes and preparation of management accounts.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Experience working within a fast-paced eCommerce or retail environment is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally, influencing decision-making at senior levels.
• Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial modelling and data analysis.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the business.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities.
