Job Description

Alexander Steele has partnered with a leading global food manufacturer that has an exciting opportunity for a Category Development Manager to deliver category growth and become the go-to category partner of choice.


Responsibilities:

  • Be a voice for the category within the business; keep up to date on shopper, retailer and category trends through continued research and market analysis.
  • Provide category leadership by developing and implementing plans to deliver growth in specific categories.
  • Work closely with the Buying teams to help optimise ranges, and look at distribution, space, location, promotions and availability of categories.
  • Interpret various data and provide high-quality analysis.
  • Support the innovation process and adopt a spirit of continuous improvement.


Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Major retail experience.
  • Understanding of the UK Market.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to coherently summarise to senior teams.
  • Relationship skills, experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive thinker, able to work to a brief but also generate own insights and analysis.
