Role Purpose

The role holder will work with the Head of Resource Planning and key Stakeholders to implement a resource planning framework and governance across dnata Catering. Potentially managing a small team the role holder will be responsible for collation and socialisation of demand and/or supply forecasts and associated recommendations into the operations teams. They will also be responsible for the review of actuals vs plan and any analysis of deviation from plan.

Internal: COO, HRBP(s), Finance BP(s) Operations Directors, General Managers, Unit Managers & Department Managers


Key Responsibilities

Lead:

  • Either directly or through matrix management lead individuals that impact on the planning process, articulating how planning activities impact on business performance, setting clear SMART goals, expectations and challenging any performance related issues as per the dnata performance process

Plan:

  • Own and collate demand and supply forecasts in order to create plans, rosters and identify resource gaps
  • Work with Operations and Ops Excellence to include impact of transformation activities into plan
  • Work with Business Leaders to determine the optimal people, equipment, and other resource requirements to support the future business strategy
  • Work with Industrial Engineers, Ops Leaders and Commercial Leaders to set time elements such as SSTs and/or Engagement Standards for specific flights by carrier, aircraft and class
  • Own and maintain a list(s) of SSTs and/or Engagement Standards for commercial and planning purposes with clear articulation of any transformation impacts and phasing

Deploy:

  • Socialise plan outputs i.e. plans and rosters by site to agreed frequency and upload to relevant tools where applicable i.e. Workday/Ground Star Planning
  • Maintain a change log for any changes to plan elements
  • Produce deployment recommendations that support effective and efficient utilisation of people, equipment and facilities
  • Track metrics to measure the success of manpower and equipment planning across area of responsibility

Execute:

  • Agree and sign off plan, assumptions and utilisation of recommended resourcing levers

Control:

  • Set and own plan components volumes, productive and non-productive times, people and skills
  • Monitor and review forecast accuracy and plan adherence
  • Ensure planning tools are utilised and maintained


This list is not exhaustive, accountabilities may vary dependant on locality, sites supported, specialisation in a particular area and/or role complexity and may include any other duties considered reasonable by the line manager.


What you’ll have:

Essential:

  • 10+ years in airport operations or a comparable sector
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Advanced computer literacy skills in particular MS Office and Excel
  • Relevant and demonstrable experience in resource management and/or manpower planning
  • Experience of leading a specialised resourcing team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of forecasting and budgeting
  • Commercial acumen

Desirable:

  • Experience in advance planning tools i.e. Anaplan, Ground Star Planning, Workday- Absence Management, Time Tracking, Scheduling & Labour Optimization
  • Experience in Power BI, Tableau or similar analysis and visualisation tools

Qualifications

  • Degree preferred, but not essential
