There have been significant capital investment across this mental health service which includes expanding and updating existing units. It is made up of people from a wide range of backgrounds with a strong sense of camaraderie. Job highlights

• Provide clinical assessment and treatment as a key member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide secondary consultation, guidance and advice to a range of other health care professionals and settings.
• Actively participate in the development and promotion of quality improvement activities.
• Participate in the education and supervision of junior medical colleagues (including medical students and psychiatric registrars in training).

Your new mental health service.

• Acute inpatient unit of 15 beds, including 3-4 high dependency.
• Extended Care inpatient unit of 5 beds.
• Prevention and recovery centre of 13 beds.
• 4 community based units including an adult Continuing Care (Recovery and Wellness across four sites).
• And an access mental health team.
• Old age community service.
• CAMHS community service.

What you'll need to succeed.

• FRANZCP or equivalent qualifications in older person psychiatry.
• Excellent teamwork, collaborative and communication capabilities.
• Clinical experience relevant to the practice of older age psychiatry.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to teaching, continuing education, and research.
• Ability to provide supervision to clinical staff and participate in internal education programs.
• Willingness and ability to undertake continuous quality improvement projects.
• Willingness to be on the on-call roster.
