Accessories Designer

Are you an experienced Accessories Designer with strong CAD skills, looking for a new opportunity? Our client is seeking a skilled professional to join their team, designing for both men's and women's accessories. This role offers a chance to work across a variety of product categories, including bags, backpacks, wash bags, headwear, and hydration bottles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough trend research and identify key items for seasonal collections.
• Prepare well-researched themes, colors, and fabric options in line with seasonal briefs.
• Create original design sketches and technical specifications for all styles, adhering to the brief.
• Stay informed about relevant fashion, lifestyle, and outdoor trends, providing input on silhouettes, finishes, and fabrics.
• Develop mood and trend boards to support the design direction.
• Collaborate with the Sales Team and Head of Design to range build for each season, assisting with daily tasks where needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all design and development work, including fabrication details and prints.
• Produce detailed spec sheets and technical packs for the designs.
• Ensure all deadlines are met by following range plans and critical paths.
• Implement sample changes into specs and tech packs, communicating updates to suppliers.
• Manage the delivery and organization of development samples within given timelines.
• Support the creation of seasonal catalogues by providing relevant content.
• Travel as needed for meetings with clients, brand owners, and collaborators.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in Accessories Design, preferably within the fashion, lifestyle, or outdoor sectors.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in bag and soft accessories construction, with knowledge of pattern cutting. Product development experience is a plus.
• Outdoor Design: Experience in designing outdoor equipment or accessories is highly desirable.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
• Design Process: Demonstrated ability to take ideas from research and concept boards through to design development and technical diagrams.
• Attention to Detail: Strong ability to produce accurate specifications, both freehand and using design software.
• Adaptability: Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing deadlines and providing timely solutions.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
• Cultural Awareness: An interest in various cultural themes, such as fashion, music, and the outdoor lifestyle, is preferred.
