Job Title: Junior Underwriter (Packaging 1st and 2nd charge bridging products)
Location: Rotherham
Salary: Up to £25,000 plus a bonus of £40 per case completed
Hours: 37.5 hour week. Between the hours of Monday 9 am to 6 pm

Join an established and growing business as an Underwriter. You will specialise in packaging 1st and 2nd charge bridging products and submitting cases to an approved panel of lenders. With a competitive salary of up to £25,000 plus bonuses, this is a fast-paced role that involves supporting a Bridging Specialist and managing business pipelines, with a focus on excellent customer service and compliance. Full training is provided, but experience with mortgage or loan packaging is preferred. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with a dynamic company!
Responsibilities for the role of Junior Underwriter
Achieve/support business targets & objectives, effectively maintain an existing pipeline of business as agreed with the Manager.
Package cases from sale to completion.
Assisting Bridging Specialist with administrative tasks to ensure that criteria guidelines are adhered to.
Ensure all activities are timely, compliant and conducted in a manner that will meet the department's standards.
Maintain an effective client management system to maximise business opportunities by providing excellent customer service.
Excellent understanding of the range of products we offer and the market in general.
Create strong networking relationships with other members of the Group of Companies.
Maintain service standards in conjunction with company guidelines.
Update case notes to assist with processing, and liaising with clients and third parties.
Ensure maximum efficiency & speed for an increased level of customer service & take responsibility for workload.
Constantly reviewing each application to ensure you are giving the correct level of service as required on an ongoing basis throughout the process.
Take responsibility for improving individual skills & standards. Action areas where improvement is required will include undertaking & participating in training or tests as required.
Understanding the use of multiple operating systems provided by key providers.Experience and skills required for the role of Junior Underwriter
Confident with both verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills (telephone-based) enthusiastic and target-driven, utilising own initiative.
Ability to work as part of a team, on own initiative and with relevant business partners (internal/external).
Excellent planning, information gathering and analytical skills with the ability to identify, research and present appropriate services and products to clients.
Experience of working for a lender, broker or mortgage/loan packager will be essential, preference will be given to candidates with experience with a broker or packagerFor more information regarding the role of Junior Underwriter contact us
