As a Specialist Surveyor you will be part of the Active Asset Management team, you'll play a key role in shaping the Group's Asset Investment Strategy and delivering effective investment planning solutions for the housing stock.



More about your role 


You'll advise PFP on technical design, maintenance, and repairs across various property types. Your responsibilities include conducting thorough surveys and producing detailed technical reports in line with industry best practices. You'll also perform investigative building surveys to identify necessary work on defective properties, while supporting programs for asbestos monitoring, energy assessments, radon testing, and disrepair. Additionally, you'll help develop operational surveying procedures to ensure accurate asset and compliance data is captured in the Group's Asset Register, keeping properties aligned with statutory obligations and industry standards.


This is a Part time role (21.75 hours) covering the South region.

More about you 


To thrive in this role, you should have experience developing survey reports, planned surveying programs, and investigating defective properties, particularly within social housing. A solid understanding of housing-related building and surveying requirements, along with knowledge of statutory obligations and sector standards, is essential.


As a Building Surveyor (BSc(Hons) level or equivalent AssocRICS), you should be skilled in analysing stock data to create detailed specifications and cost forecasts. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and experience with housing asset registers are necessary. AssocRICS via the Residential Pathway and holding RICS Registered Valuer accreditation are welcome to apply.


PCA qualified Damp & Timber surveyors, former craft operatives at Licentiateship of the City and Guilds of London Institute (LCGI) standard and those in the final stages of the SAVA residential training will be considered however your probationary period will require your successful completion of your AssocRICS examination.


Strong diagnostic skills, the ability to produce clear survey reports, and excellent customer engagement are vital.



A full driving license and access to a suitable vehicle are required, as part of this role we will provide either a car allowance or company car. Desirable qualifications include RICS/CIOB membership, and knowledge of housing disrepair law. Experience in health and safety regulations and the handling of insurance peril damage is a plus. RICS Graduates and AssocRICS may apply at the entry level and will be supported to undertake the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).



Essential Experience & Skills



  • Knowledge in assessing building defects, defects pathology either academically or by practically gained experience.



  • Experience of developing survey reports, planned surveying programmes and delivering volume defective property investigations.
