Senior Data Modeler

Job Description : 1. Data Modeling & Design : - Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models that meet the business requirements. - Design and implement data models for data warehouses, data marts, and OLAP systems. - Ensure data models are scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance. - Collaborate with database administrators to create efficient database structures (tables, indexes, views). 2. Tools & Technologies : - Utilize data modeling tools such as ERwin, Visio, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler, or others. - Work with various database systems, including but not limited to Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AlloyDB and cloud-based databases like BigQuery, Redshi, or Snowake. - Stay current with emerging data modeling trends, tools, and technologies to recommend improvements. 3. Collaboration & Consultation : - Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into data models. - Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring alignment on data architecture strategies. - Provide expertise and guidance on data modeling best practices to development teams and other stakeholders. 4. Data Governance & Quality : - Establish and enforce data modeling standards, guidelines, and best practices. - Ensure data models comply with organizational data governance policies and standards. - Validate data models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with business requirements. 5. Documentation & Communication : - Document all aspects of data models, including denitions, relationships, and data ow. - Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner. - Provide training and mentoring to junior data modelers and other team members (ref:hirist.tech)
