Senior Database Developer - SQL/PL-SQL

As a Senior Database Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing database solutions that support our data warehousing and data mart initiatives. Your expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and data modeling will be crucial in delivering high-quality data solutions that meet business requirements. Key Responsibilities : - Database Design : Design and implement robust database structures, including data warehouses and data marts, to support business intelligence and analytics. - Development : Write complex SQL and PL/SQL code to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data efficiently. Develop stored procedures, triggers, and functions to automate processes. - Data Modeling : Create and maintain data models that support the organization's data architecture, ensuring alignment with business goals. - Performance Tuning : Analyze and optimize SQL queries for performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing. - Data Governance : Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security across databases, adhering to industry standards and best practices. - Collaboration : Work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and IT teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions. - Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs, processes, and procedures. - Mentorship : Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database developers and team members. Qualifications : Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Experience : 5 years of experience in database development, with a strong focus on SQL, PL/SQL, data warehousing, and data marts. Technical Skills : - Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL for Oracle or SQL Server. - Strong experience with data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and tools. - Familiarity with ETL processes and tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS). - Knowledge of data modeling tools and techniques (e.g., ERwin, Lucidchart) is a plus. - Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is advantageous. - Problem-Solving Skills : Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to address complex data issues. - Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
