Engage Recruitment is delighted to be partnered with Bayne's the Family Bakers in search of their next Senior Finance Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to support a fast-paced retail & bakery operation at what is an exciting time to be joining.


Role Summary:

Financial information, reporting, and control is key to enabling good decision making and ensuring the business operates in an effective and efficient manner. You will assist the Finance Manager and your colleagues in achieving robust reporting and controls. You will maintain strong relationships with colleagues across the business and assist them with financial information.


Your internal customers will be Retail and Bakery management, shop management, and all users of financial information. Your role is important in helping to ensure the finances of the business are controlled and reporting is accurate. This will enable better decision making and will allow the recipients of financial information to spend more time helping their customers. Your colleagues will remember the positive impact that you have had with them every day. Your external customers are our auditors and our banking support services. You will help Bayne’s become the nation’s favourite baker by providing accurate information in a timely manner.


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Reconciliation and posting of weekly shop income for all shops
  • Bank reconciliation of shop Income
  • Reconciliation of website, Just Eat & Uber sales
  • Assisting Finance Manager with month end tasks
  • Checking sales and stock reports
  • Fixed Asset Register - Maintaining and reporting of Capital Expenditure
  • Preparation of quarterly VAT returns
  • Weekly stock & sales checks
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Reporting of Information - complete and publish reports relating to incomes


Your Key Skills and Experiences:

  • At least 3 years working in a finance department within a busy organisation
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including XLOOKUPS, PIVOT TABLES & SUMIFS
  • Experience in completing VAT returns
  • Knowledge of SAGE line 50 is preferred
  • HND in Accounting, AAT or studying towards CA status would be advantageous
