Construction Design Manager

Express Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with one of the UK’s fastest growing construction firms. Due to continued success and an increased order book, our client is looking for a highly accomplished Construction Design Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the scheme through from planning approval/contract execution to their commencement on site. You will be responsible for the co-ordination and approval of all construction drawings and information to ensure they adhere to budget allocations and their stringent client requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Liaise with all Stakeholders in the Project to ensure all information is provided at required stages
• Organise, participate, and record Design Review Meetings
• Liaise with the Commercial Team to ensure the designs fall within the Project Budget
• Co-ordinate the Planning Submission & Discharge of Conditions
• Review and manage the flow of information to ensure all technical details are incorporated into design
• Research and explore various design methods to improve build quality and explore potential value engineering options to improve overall quality & cost performance
• Ensure client requirements fall within CDM regulations and British design standards

Skills & Experience

• Degree qualified or similar qualification in relevant Construction or Architectural subject
• Demonstrable experience in a similar Design Management role within the construction Industry
• In depth knowledge of the design process and construction design stages with a main contractor
• In depth knowledge of CDM regulations
• Technical knowledge and the ability to use design and project management software to a highly proficient level
• Current knowledge of Building Regulations, SAP calculations and their impact on design
