This business have a solid reputation for creating unique spaces and bringing buildings to life. They have a very healthy pipeline of work and due to continuous growth are seeking a Senior-Associate level Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join their Glasgow office. This company are involved in multiple sectors of work; you will get access to challenging and interesting projects varying in size and scale across Commercial, High-Scale Residential developments, Retail, Industrial and lots of survey work.

Role

  • Ensuring an understanding of project briefs. .
  • Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services Systems.
  • Carry out (and managing of others), in the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, IES, in-house developed tools, etc.
  • Preparing technical specifications using NBS
  • Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
  • Report and technical note writing.
  • Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
  • Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET.
  • Proficient in energy reduction methods and approaches to decarbonising new and existing buildings.
  • Familiarity with the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
  • Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, IES, Revit is beneficial
  • Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
  • Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
