What do we do?

The Train Service Delivery Manager roles forms part of ScotRail’s Integrated Control Team working with many other people to deliver ScotRail’s service every day.

A Train Service Delivery Manager is responsible for delivering the train service within a specified geographic area and, through efficient use of resources, we strive to achieve the optimum service that meets the needs of our customers. During times of disruption we implement customer led contingencies working as part of the ScotRail Alliance to deliver an on time railway and minimising the impact of any disruption to both the timetable, passenger journeys and other customer operations.

What do we need from you?

A railway operating background, control room experience or experience of managing resources to tight timescales are desired. Proactive, top class communication and listening skills, the ability to motivate and direct others. A proven ability to remain calm and productive during times of disruption. Sound Judgement is essential. Knowledge of the business, key drivers and how we in the Control can influence and help to deliver these. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is not afraid of hard work with a passion for delivering great customer service.

What will we give you?

We will give you the opportunity to be a great Train Service Delivery Manager within the Integrated Control Office with on-the-job training until ready to take on the role yourself, after which we will coach and develop you to refine your skills and experience.

The Small Print:

This post works day, night and weekend shifts and is based in the Integrated Control, West of Scotland Signalling Centre in Springburn, Glasgow. The post is also Relief and does not have a set shift pattern.

The post covers a 35 hour week. The reference salary is £51,104 per annum.

Selection process: Short-listed candidates will complete classroom assessment and competency based interview. The final stage for successful candidates will be to attend a medical examination and drugs/alcohol screening. Appointees will be asked to submit at least two satisfactory references, Disclosure Scotland clearance and complete a six month probation period.
