Job Title: HR Advisor

Location: Eastleigh

Working Hours: 37 hours a week

Working Pattern: Mon Fri 8:30 17:30pm

Salary:£34,975.50 per annum

As the HR Advisor you deliver a comprehensive and professional HR service to managers, employees and the HR team. You will be involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle, maintaining and improving our policies, processes and people systems to deliver an effective and efficient HR experience and service.

Principal Responsibilities include (Full job description is available upon request):

  • HR Support and Advice:
    Provide day-to-day HR advice and support to managers and employees, ensuring adherence to HR policies and UK employment law. Offer guidance on a wide range of issues including performance management, absence management, and employee relations.
  • Employee Relations:
    Provide guidance on our people policies in a wide range of situations to support effective case management and employee relations practice. Assist with managing employee relations matters such as disciplinary and grievance cases, investigations, and absence management. Support the HR Business Partner/ HR Director in complex cases, ensuring a fair and consistent approach.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    Support the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting/ evaluating job descriptions, advertising roles, shortlisting candidates, and coordinating interviews. Oversee onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition for new hires, including conducting HR inductions.
  • HR Policy Implementation:
    Lead on updating, and implementation of HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are compliant with current legislation and aligned with best practices.
  • HR Administration:
    Maintain accurate HR records, including employee files, absence records, and HR system data. Ensure all HR documentation is up-to-date and compliant with GDPR regulations.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    Produce regular reports on HR metrics such as headcount, turnover, absence, and diversity statistics. Use data to identify trends and inform decision-making within the HR team.

  • CIPD level 5 Qualification
  • 1-2 years experience working as an HR Advisor, and / or 4 plus years working as a HR Coordinator/ Administrator
  • Understand the employee lifecycle and how people practices can impact positively and negatively.
  • Can build tools / reports to track achievement of outcomes and impact of people practices (KPIs)
  • Has a deep understanding of HR systems and how to utilise them to the benefit of our people and organisation.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working within the awarding and/or education sector.
  • Encourage others to recognise when they need help, admit mistakes, and share concerns and ideas.
  • Maintain motivation and resilience through self-care and personal responsibility.
