Landmark Global is the international division of bpost, Belgium’s national postal service. Bpost employs more than 26,000 people, handles 3.9 billion items per year and delivers to more than five million addresses every day. Landmark Global currently operates in 11 countries, 25 locations, handles over 200K parcels per day and part of the Global Cross Border business unit. Our business has grown from basic international mail and parcel delivery to full service, end-to-end solutions. This includes proprietary technology and trade consulting, which provides our clients the capability to sell to millions of customers worldwide. Our technology is web-based, scalable and agile. Mercury, our proprietary web-based software, was developed on the foundations of our logistics expertise and client requests.


The Role

As Business Development Manager your primary responsibility is to develop the company's international customer base, deliver revenue targets, drive profitability, and accelerate growth.

  • Targeting new business opportunities with an annual target of £1.25m.
  • Offer prospective clients Landmark Global’s full range of Parcel and Postal solutions which covers both International Cross Border, International Express and Domestic.
  • To help increase company revenue & profit margins by developing relationships with new customers and help them on the road to turning them into loyal clients.
  • You will be masterful in new client engagements and able to build excellent board level relationships. You will inspire the entire Landmark Global business to deliver excellent service to our clients and enhance the customer experience.
  • Research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets.
  • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation.
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
  • Meet with customers/clients face to face, over the phone or via video conferencing.
  • Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients.
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business.
  • Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning to implement operational changes.
  • Draw up client service agreement and on boarding plans.
  • Have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them.
  • Ensure staff are on board throughout the organisation and understand the need for change and what is required of them.
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department.
  • Liaise with the finance team, warehousing, and logistics departments as appropriate seek ways of improving the way the business operates.
  • Attend seminars, conferences, and events where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other bpost Group OPCO’s to ensure that we offer clients a full range of ECommerce and B2B Omnichannel solutions.
  • Keep abreast of trends and changes in the e commerce and retail world


Requirements

  • A proven track record of winning and on boarding new customers.
  • Experience leading & negotiating client commercial contracts.
  • Strong relationship building skills.
  • Proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to succeed.
  • Commercially focused and analytical
  • Curious, energetic, and passionate about the customer experience.
  • Proven sales track record.
  • Business Strategy/ planning
