Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Working Location: Holborn, London (Hybrid)


Role Purpose


An exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our Transformation team in London. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager of Cards this role will be responsible for the successful end to end delivery of projects, products and features within our Cards ecosystem.


Using your cards industry expertise, you will implement and deliver new card products, features and run workstreams on larger scale wide reaching card projects. The successful candidate will have experience in debit/prepaid cards from the issuing or programme management side. We are ideally looking for someone who is currently operating as an Implementation Manager, Project Manager or Specialist position and will have project management experience, excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and may have some experience in delivering debit or prepaid card projects in a busy environment.


You are a team player, focused on delivery and able to manage multiple priorities concurrently. You will support on large projects and deliver medium sized projects but you are also happy to own challenging smaller projects. You are a hands-on problem solver and can pick up and run with an issue, whether it comes up in through BAU or as a challenge on a project. You will investigate, identify the issue and find a resolution, taking ownership through to completion.


As a Project Manager, you will have working experience in the lifecycle of card products and some knowledge of prepaid card products & portfolios, and associated compliance obligations.


Key Accountabilities


  • The role requires effective co-ordination of card projects, the management of key inter-dependencies with cross functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Able to deliver project updates and programme reporting and present when needed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written), and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to make objective decisions and recommendations, escalation of risks and issues.
  • Excellent at building relationships at all levels and influencing a range of stakeholders, challenging decision making to help drive continuous improvements.
  • Resilient to change, adapting to and supporting new situations with confidence.


Project Management

  • Takes responsibility for the successful completion of assigned projects or tasks, establishing and maintaining the correct structures to control and monitor the deliverables to the business.
  • Assigns, schedules, reviews, and monitors project work to ensure completion on time and within budget. Where relevant, ensures change requests are raised and approved.
  • Works with appropriate stakeholders to identify the roles of team members within a project or workstream, secure the relevant project resources and gather estimates.
  • Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates issues, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of project.
  • Maintains an audit trail of project deliverables, including change control, reviews and approvals for key projects and stage gates.


General

  • Undertakes any necessary training associated with the duties of the post and participates in training and development procedures.
  • Complies with Travelex policies and standards.
  • Maintains confidentiality and observes data protection guidelines.
  • Carries out any other reasonable duties commensurate with their capability.



Experience and Personal Qualities


Essential

  • Previous experience supporting projects within a cards environment.
  • Ability to work in both Agile/Scrum delivery model as well as traditional waterfall.
  • Demonstrable experience implementing Mastercard or Visa card projects either working as or alongside an Issuer and/or Programme Manager.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the full project/development life cycle and the concepts and practices required to implement effective IT systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have the ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts and document accordingly.
  • High attention to detail, well-organised and capable of handling multiple objectives and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships.
  • Proven experience interacting directly with end users and subject matter experts.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Independent, but also a good team player.
  • Must be flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of challenging tasks, be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Be able and willing to challenge upwards.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including familiarity with Visio and Project.


Desirable

  • A good understanding of Prepaid/Debit/Fintech cards, ecosystem and regulation.
  • Project methodology qualification.
