Buyer - (Cakes & Cereals)

Quest Search and Selection are partnering with one of the leading specialist ambient food brands in the UK and Europe . The business is looking for a Buyer to take care of a portfolio of finished product categories to drive growth and profitability.

As a Buyer - (Cakes & Cereals) your main duties will include:

• Developing and executing buying strategies for product & range assortment
• Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring suppliers can support business growth.
• Negotiating prices with suppliers
• Compliance check for new suppliers, making sure with all necessary reports and documentation are in place.
• Negotiating and handling exclusivity agreements, tenders, and contracts.
• Maintaining timely communication with all stakeholders to ensure clarity in decision-making and follow-up
• Staying informed on category trends, market dynamics, product innovations, and competitor activities to make suitable recommendations.
• Date savvy – you will be managing pricing and promotions including sheets, GPCs, and supplier master data

To be considered for this Buyer - (Cakes & Cereals), you must have:

• Ideally having 2-3 + years of experience in retail food or FMCG buying
• You must have experience of branded buying and dealing with buying finished-products
• Have operated at a Buyer, Category Buyer/Manager, Junior Buyer or Trading Manager level . We would consider someone looking for a step up, as the business has great learning & development opportunities for an upward trajectory in your career.
• Exceptional negotiation and supplier experience.
• Experience with developing and maintaining positive supplier relationships
• Experienced using SAP or Excel
• Flexible for business travels on av. 1 every 6 weeks for EU travel (av. 2-night visit).
