Clinical or Practitioner Psychologist


  • Full and part time applicants considered (3 day minimum)
  • £55,000 - £65,000 dependant on experience
  • Hybrid working with more time at home, some planned evening work, onsite locations in central London
  • Private medical insurance, life insurance, sickness insurance, paternity leave equivalent to the NHS after 1 year working with us.
  • Not traditional 1:1 Therapy


About the role:


The role requires the ability to effectively deliver:


  • Primarily brief 1:1 sessions to a broad spectrum of clinical presentations, risk levels and severity
  • A small proportion of longer term therapeutic interventions where this is not available or appropriate from the employer’s well-being benefits package
  • Systemic consultation to managers, HR, teams and organisational leaders on how best to support the emotional and psychological health of their employees at a systemic and individual level
  • Thought provoking interactive workshop events and written content.

About the services we run:


Amplify delivers services to businesses in the finance, insurance, legal and entertainment sectors. Our services focus on ease of access, clinical quality, great service user and clinician experience. Here is an outline of how we do this:


  • An employee (the client) or (with consent) someone else like a team manager or HR professional can refer the employee to Amplify using a simple web form (via a URL or QR code) that takes 2 mins to complete. We screen it immediately for any imminent risk concerns while the client schedules themselves into a convenient appointment slot with one of the team. The booking system automatically scans our calendars to only show current availability. We have very few exclusion criteria so the severity and type of emotional or mental health issue varies considerably from mild anxiety/low mood and relationship problems to addictions, suicidality, trauma and complex emotional and interpersonal difficulties.


  • When individuals need longer-term support we provide a concierge-like service and motivate and support them to connect to ongoing support as clinically appropriate (e.g., a formal course of therapy accessed via Private Medical Insurance) as part of their recovery journey. In most cases we see clients for only 3 - 4 sessions, help them to resolve the immediate issue and they are able to self-manage when we close the referral; though we do hold some clients longer in specific circumstances. We do not have a wait-list and we provide impactful help from the first session.


  • We also consult to leaders/managers and HR teams on challenging situations related to employee mental health/well-being issues. Sometimes (with appropriate consents) we facilitate conversations between the employees and manager or HR business partners to achieve an agreed plan that works for all parties.


Our team is deliberately diverse in therapeutic skill set and clinical speciality; we are not wedded to a particular therapeutic model but the interventions we provide must be goal-directed and impactful and have practical value within a short period of time. When consulting, we aim to address the systemic issues. We use aggregated data and insights from the clinical themes we see to help our customer organisations make informed decisions about their employee well-being programmes and people strategy.
