Job Description

My client is a high growth tech business in the retail/ FMCG space.


They are looking to expand further and they require an ambitious Business Development Director to join and grow with the business, starting as an individual contributor before developing more into a leadership position.


About the Role:


This is an Individual Contributor role, reporting directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for generating new business, working with the world’s largest Retailers & CPGs. You will also be responsible for the development of a new SaaS proposition.


You will be in charge of managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to close. The role is key to realising the businesses growth ambitions; as such it’ll be a challenging & hugely rewarding opportunity for the right individual.


What You’ll be Doing:


● Pipeline Generation: Drive new business opportunities via a relentless prospecting rhythm (outbound, inbound and networking)

● Pain Identification: Identify, diagnose and uncover problems prospective clients are facing, its impact on multiple use cases across the business & where they could help solve these

● Champion Building: Identify, nurture and develop individuals within the prospect’s business that will champion the suite of products and want to drive the commercial case forward to partner with us

● Domain Expertise: Attend industry events and conferences to develop a POV and keep on top of industry trends to position their unique differentiators accordingly

● Closing: flawless execution of the sales process with multiple stakeholders to maximise win ratios


About You:


● Must Haves

○ Strong prospecting & pipeline management experience

○ Strong presentation/negotiation skills and the ability to quickly build credibility

○ Solid understanding of the CPG/Retail space

○ Proven track record of exceeding quota

○ Start-up experience (pre-Series B) - used to being scrappy & not having all the processes worked out yet!


● Nice to Haves

○ Exposure to MEDDPICC

○ Exposure to strong sales methodologies (e.g. Force Management, Challenger, Spin)
