Children's Support worker - Wandsworth - £95-£100 per day - Long-term, full-time - Monday to Friday - SEMH

The Role - Children's Support worker
As a Children's Support worker, you will be responsible for supporting students with a mixture of needs across different learning abilities and areas. The students have SEMH (Social and emotional mental health) as well as other addition needs.
You will be a positive role model to the students you work with providing and creating a safe learning environment, promoting positive behaviour and delivering engaging activities and support academically. You will need to be resilient, nurturing and calm.
Within this Children's Support worker role, it is imperative that you remain professional at all times. You will supervise work, playground time, outreach community activity support and more.
Training for positive handling and de-escalation is offered by the school where required
This role entales 1:1 and/or group support as well as supporting the class teachers across various subjects.
The School - Children's Support worker
This role is at a special school in Wandsworth for 120 boys aged 5 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs. All pupils have an Educational Health Care Plan.
Primary pupils benefit from a purpose-built classroom hub and outdoor adventure playground. They have access to weekly music lessons and a comprehensive therapy service.
Secondary and post-16 students are offered a broach curriculum including vocational courses such as barbering, construction, horticulture, hospitality and motor vehicle studies.
All pupils benefit from regular animal therapy farm, which is located on the spacious school site.
The school has great transport links across London - Overground, underground and local bus routes all within walking distance. The school is surrounded by green areas, local community shops and has free on-site parking.
