Special Needs English Specialist – Modern, Spacious School (Exeter)
Are you an experienced English Teacher with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs? We are looking for a Special Needs English Specialist to join our inclusive, non-selective independent school in Exeter. This role requires strong behaviour management skills to support students with a variety of needs, including autism, SEMH, and anxiety. The school is set in a modern, spacious environment, with ample outdoor space tailored to meet the diverse needs of its students.
Position: Special Needs English Specialist

School Type: Non-Selective Independent School (SEND)
Salary: Paid to main teaching salary scales
The Role:
Deliver engaging and tailored English lessons to students with varied SEND needs, including autism, SEMH, and anxiety.
Implement strong behaviour management strategies to create a calm and supportive learning environment.
Collaborate with support staff and specialists to ensure individualised learning for each student.
Use the school's modern and spacious facilities, including outdoor spaces, to support the learning and well-being of students.
What We're Looking For:
A qualified English Teacher with QTS (or equivalent) and experience working with SEND students.
Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours and create a positive, structured learning environment.
A compassionate and flexible approach to meet the emotional and educational needs of children with a range of SEND requirements.
Commitment to promoting inclusivity and supporting the holistic development of students.
