IT Field Support Engineer

- Salary: £28,000 + company car- Location: South Somerset/Dorset area- On-site full time, permanent

This role will involve troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing both hardware and software systems across distributed environments. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for both hardware and software systems (PC's, Laptops, Printers, Servers)
• Diagnose and resolve issues with networked devices (CISCO), servers, and workstations
• Collaborate with internal teams to identify and address software performance issues
• Perform hardware installations, upgrades, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance
• Monitor system performance and respond to alerts and incidents in a timely manner
• Deliver high-quality customer service while troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Maintain detailed documentation of technical processes, configurations, and resolutions

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in supporting and troubleshooting both hardware and software systems (PC's, Laptops, Printers, Servers, software)
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for diagnosing complex issues across distributed systems
• Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with cross-functional teams to solve critical IT challenges
• Documentation: Excellent attention to detail in maintaining accurate technical documentation

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with a variety of operating systems, maintenance of PC's, Laptops, Printers, Servers, software
• Familiarity with virtualisation technologies, cloud platforms, and network infrastructure
