Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and motivated individual with outstanding skills to join Fettes College as Maintenance Electrician.

The Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman and working as part of the Estates Maintenance Team, this role involves working to both planned and reactive maintenance schedules to ensure that the electrical systems are installed and maintained in good safe working order and in line with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

· Carry out electrical repairs and preventative maintenance.

· Rewiring such as lighting, heating systems and access control.

· Install electrical systems to 18th Edition wiring regulations.

· Identify maintenance that is required either reactive or routine.

· Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds College standards.

· Responding quickly and efficiently to reactive maintenance requests.


Person Specification

Qualifications and Skills

· Time served with an industry recognised qualification in electrical installations.

· BS7671 – 18th Edition or willing to upskill from 17th.

· Experience of carrying out electrical installations, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and fault finding.

· Knowledge and application of safe working practices.

· Able to work at heights and in enclosed spaces.

· Exceptional customer service skills.

· Computer literate.

Benefits

This is a permanent full-time role, working 36.25 hours per week Monday to Friday (specifically 8 am to 4.30 pm, with a 3 pm finish on a Friday, with a half hour unpaid lunch break and 2 x 15 min unpaid breaks – one break on a Friday). Occasional weekend and evening working as required, including the attending of specific events, etc.

Annual Salary: £35,000
