Purpose of Role: The Software Engineering Manager will have line management responsibilities for a small technical team, while contributing to the development process. This role focuses on guiding developers, supporting feature development and fixes, and managing day-to-day operations to ensure the team delivers high-quality, scalable solutions that align with business objectives.

What Were Looking For:

  • 3-5 years in a technical role, with at least 1 year of proven team management experience within a development team
  • Hands-on software development expertise,particularly in Python
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality, scalable business solutions
  • Experience guiding developers in a technical capacity
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams

Technical Expertise Required:

  • Strong Experience with Python (ideally with Pandas, SQLAlchemy, and FastAPI)
  • Strong experience with MySQL
  • Good understanding of messaging middleware like MQs.
  • Familiarity with Docker and Docker Compose
  • Solid understanding of Git and version control
  • Comfortable working in a Mac/Linux environment

Nice to have (but not essential):

  • Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
  • Familiarity with GCP services like Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, VMs, Load Balancers, and Cloud Logging
  • Awareness of security practices, auditing, and compliance standards in financial environments
  • Kubernetes knowledge is a bonus but not required
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitLab
  • Proficiency in one additional programming language such as C++/Java/C#
