Maintenance Supervisor - Student Accommodation - Leicester

About the role

• Manage day-to-day maintenance activities across the Lumis Living Leicester site, ensuring the property remains in top condition.
• Perform regular inspections of all equipment, communal areas, and student rooms to identify and address any maintenance issues.
• Supervise and coordinate timely repairs, ensuring that all issues are addressed efficiently and safely.
• Liaise with external contractors for specialised repairs, ensuring they adhere to timelines, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and minimize repair costs.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and building codes.
• Manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring stock is available for emergency repairs.
• Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve sustainability at the site.
• Lead and train a small team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards.
• Be available for on-call emergencies and urgent repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.

Requirements for the Role:

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role in facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
• Experience managing a team and coordinating with external contractors.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly related to building maintenance.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
• Basic IT skills for managing maintenance logs and schedules.
• A qualification in a related field (e.g., Electrical, Plumbing, Facilities Management) is an advantage.
