Part-Time Finance Director

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Finance Director to work part time (2 days a week). The role reports to the Managing Director and is a key member of the Senior Management Team. The role is supported by the part-time Bookkeeper and requires a flexible and hands-on approach.

General responsibilities:

· Present financial information and support the management team in commercial, strategic and business planning matters

· Attend weekly management meetings

· Attend periodic board meetings, prepare papers and minutes

· Act as Company Secretary

· Manage relationships with bankers, HMRC, insurers, accountants, tax advisers, legal advisers, surveyors

· Work closely with the Slovakian manufacturer on cost control, manufacturing schedule etc

Financial performance management:

· Prepare monthly management accounts

· Prepare annual budget and periodic forecasts

· Draft annual statutory accounts and liaise with auditors

· Work with Engineering Director to prepare R&D Tax Credit claim

· Review corporation tax return

· Tax planning

· Business and strategic planning

Day-to-day financial control:

· Cashflow management

· Management of investments

· Oversee activities carried out by Bookkeeper: bookkeeping, credit control, supplier payments, payroll, VAT, Slovakian VAT

Miscellaneous responsibilities:

· Maintain effective relationship with principal shareholder

· Manage insurance and PHI renewals

· Deal with employment matters, eg contracts of employment, disciplinary matters, bonus scheme

· Deal with contractual matters relating to leasehold property

· Assist with review of sales/distribution agreements

You will be expected to liaise closely with our book-keeper, our office manager and other director colleagues. Remuneration

• Part time salary based on full time earnings of £75,000-£85,000 (depending on experience, qualifications and other factors)
• Annual staff bonus based on company profits.

Job location:

The IBIS offices are on the Cressex Business Park in High Wycombe, close to junction 4 of the M40. The FD role may be carried out partly from home and partly from the office. Team communication is often done using on-line ‘Teams’ calls.

IBIS Integrated Bindery Systems (www.ibis-bindery.com), based in High Wycombe, UK, was formed in 1999 to provide innovative book-binding solutions for digitally-printed sheets. We were the pioneers in developing the first ‘saddle-stitcher’ to run in-line with the highest speed digital web presses. Our original core skills are in new product development but over time we have also developed a customer support team and a sales/marketing capability. We also manage external sub-contract manufacture.

We have kept ourselves ahead of our competitors through innovative high-performing products and have now become supplier of choice in the international digital web-printing market which we serve. Our IBIS ‘Smart-binder’ system produces high quality, finished booklets at speeds up to 14,000 per hour. We offer an innovative and patented glue-binding process as an alternative to wire stapling, which is unique to the Smart-binder.

Since the Smart-binder was introduced at an International Printing Trade show in 2004, we have sold over 200 booklet production systems to different customers at locations as far afield as Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, Brazil, Moscow, Korea, Europe, USA, UAE and Africa. It is a proven system, attracting repeat orders from many of our loyal customers.

We sell either directly to end-users, or via sales agents which include major international vendors such as Xerox, Canon, HP and Ricoh, with an average sales price of around £300,000.
