Job Description

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Commercial Operations to lead our commercial operations, with a primary focus on optimising and growing our attractions business with focus on Experience oversight, Food & Beverage (F&B), Retail, and overall operational activities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in driving commercial success, enhancing productivity, and delivering operational excellence. This role will be pivotal in scaling our business, improving efficiencies, and ensuring the highest standards across all operational facets.


As Path grows from a startup to a growth accelerator company, the focus and investment on a senior role overseeing operations and commercial leadership for Path’s UK office is key. Building on the success of world class experiential content, we are looking for a leader to support the CEO as Path moves to the next level as a global leader in location based experiential content.

Key Responsibilities:

Commercial Strategy & Growth:

  • Develop and implement a robust commercial strategy aimed at maximising revenue across all F&B, Retail, and operational channels.
  • Utilise data, trends to maximise revenue opportunities.
  • Identify and pursue new business ideas to pioneer growth and profitability.
  • Oversee budget planning and financial management to ensure the achievement of financial targets and efficient allocation of resources.
  • Leading the oversight of operations across the attractions to optimise output, which includes the development of our teams for retention and to ensure the delivery of a consistent quality product experience.



Operational Excellence:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of operations, ensuring seamless integration between the attraction, Retail, F&B, and event management.
  • Establish and maintain high standards of operational performance, including customer service, supply chain management, and inventory control.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and streamline processes.
  • Work with CEO and production on continued product development to reach wider audiences, stronger commercials and continued audience experience excellence.
  • Build best practices surrounding teamwork, building culture and strong work ethos and transparent robust communication and collaboration for output and efficiency.



Leadership & Team Development:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the operations, F&B, and retail teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration with the wider business.
  • Build new enterprise and commercial opportunity within the attractions, and continue to explore ways of enhancing secondary functions.
  • Develop and mentor management teams, ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to achieve operational and commercial objectives.
  • Set clear performance goals and regularly evaluate team progress to drive continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Work with content and production on key IP sign off feasibility work.



Customer Experience & Satisfaction:

  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional customer experiences across all touchpoints, with a focus on quality, service, hunger and innovation.
  • Monitor and respond to customer feedback, using insights to refine and improve service offerings.
  • Work closely with marketing and IP to align operational activities with brand standards and customer expectations.



Health and Safety | Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure all operations comply with relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the continued smooth operation of all business units.
  • Proactively support the Company’s health and safety agenda.
  • Ensure all team members are aware of their Health and Safety responsibilities as required by the company Health and Safety Policy, monitor compliance with procedural requirements.
  • Ensuring the wearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by or recommended by the Company will be obligatory and ensure this is applied across all departments where applicable.
  • Report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to company procedures.
  • Ensure that any accidents to team members, customers or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures and ensure awareness of these procedures across the company.
  • Attend Statutory Fire and any relevant Health and Safety training, be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire and Health and Safety. Be vigilant in ensuring this is managed effectively across the operation.
  • To be fully conversant with all Risk Assessments for your departments, COSHH Regulations, Fire and Bomb Procedures and ensure the team are up to date and proactively manage their responsibilities in these areas.



Experience:

  • Extensive experience in a senior management role within the entertainment, hospitality, or retail industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing commercial operations, including F&B and retail.
  • Strong background in developing and executing commercial strategies that drive revenue and growth.



Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budget management, financial forecasting, and P&L oversight.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
