Our client own and manage around 13,000 homes within the Borough of Rochdale in Greater Manchester. Our client currently have an exciting opportunity for aProject Delivery Surveyorto join their Property Service department, within the Asset Team.

This role will ensure the effective delivery of major investment contracts from inception to completion, contributing to the successful delivery of the Investment Programme including planned and cyclical maintenance contracts through the appointment of internal and external contractors, ensuring contracts are delivered on time, are fully compliant, meet required quality standards and within budget.

Who are they looking for?

  • Contract Management skills to ensure that contracts are delivered within the agreed timescales, budget and quality standards Knowledge of contractual obligations, i.e. JCT Intermediate contracts & procurement processes, i.e. The Chest, Open Tender, Invoice Only / SOR;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, architects, local authority representatives, councillors;
  • Excellent IT skills to compile tender packages including MS programmes. AutoCAD (desirable)
  • Excellent organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met, contracts are delivered on time and in accordance with contractual obligations;
  • Excellent financial and budget management skills to ensure that contracts are delivered on budget and value for money is achieved;
  • Excellent negotiation skills to achieve cooperation and agreements between stakeholders, contractors and customers including conflict resolution when dealing with customer complaints;
  • Time management skills to ensure that multiple contracts are delivered simultaneously to ensure targets are met and programmes are delivered on time;
  • Building surveying skills to identify building defects and appropriate remedial action in accordance with the relevant Building Standards and regulations; Recognising age (life cycles) condition of component parts; awareness around appropriate materials / specifications including sustainable alternatives;
  • Awareness of H&S and CDM regulations to ensure that contractors are meeting their duties and responsibilities under CDM 2015 regulations;
  • Knowledge and awareness of specialisms including electrical, mechanical, cyclical maintenance.
  • Awareness and understanding of legal issues, i.e. leaseholder agreements, party wall agreements etc;
  • Awareness and understanding of social value and sustainability targets in the procurement and delivery of contracts.
