Job Description
About the Role:
Equitas are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and welcoming SEN secondary school. This is a full-time, temporary role where you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, both in and outside of the classroom.
* Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery.
* Help manage classroom behavior and support students’ emotional and social development.
* Work closely with teachers and SEN coordinators to adapt learning materials and strategies for individual students.
* Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working in an SEN setting is highly desirable.
* A patient, empathetic approach and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
* A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
