Operations Manager

My client, a small, family run and successful Food Wholesale company are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to look after their Warehouse and Transport operations.

Your main responsibility will be to oversee and manage the warehouse and transport operation of the company ensuring that customers are supplied with the right quantities of goods at the right times. Managing 4 direct reports and indirectly 7 reports, ensuring that all processes and procedures are in place and followed.

Your principle accountabilities:

Contribute to corporate strategy in relation to the warehouse and transport operations to ensure that the company achieves its short and long-term objectives.

Provides leadership and management for the warehouse and transport operation across the organization.

Manages the warehouse team and the Transport Supervisor to ensure that they are motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard.

Manages third party and haulage contracts to ensure they are value for money and collect and deliver within specified timescales.

Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that warehouse and transport functions achieve their business objectives.

Develop and control operational budgets to promote profitability and ensure the company has all the resources required to meet its objectives within agreed financial parameters.

Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure safe and healthy working environments.

Evaluate overall company performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
