Category Manager

Our client is a leading producer of some of the most recognized and iconic brands in the UK and Ireland. They offer a diverse range of industry-leading own-label products, including fresh pork, lamb, and chicken, and collaborate with major retailers and food service outlets. Their extensive portfolio also features authentic chilled and frozen ready meals, snacking options, added value products, and food service solutions.

We are seeking a Category Manager to oversee comprehensive category management, from generating insights and identifying opportunities to partnering with customers and executing strategies in the market. The successful candidate will cultivate trusted and collaborative relationships with customers to drive positive change and achieve sustainable category growth. This role will focus on two primary customers while also engaging with others as business needs arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Transform data from various sources into actionable insights and compelling narratives to capitalize on opportunities.
• Develop collaborative and independent relationships with key customer stakeholders, establishing yourself as a trusted partner to influence change.
• Integrate our vision for category growth with key customers, fostering thought leadership and driving positive market changes.
• Lead total category range reviews in collaboration with customers.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Proven experience in FMCG roles.
• Experience collaborating with external agencies to deliver projects.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling.
• Strong relationship-building abilities and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Capacity to develop trusted and influential partnerships, both internally and externally.
• Robust analytical skills and comfort working with diverse data sources.
• A high level of curiosity and a drive to understand the underlying reasons behind trends and data.
• Ability to distill insights into clear, actionable learnings.
