Job Description

Fire & Security Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join a well-established, nationwide electrical contractor working across the commercial and industrial sectors, including industries such as dental, automotive repair, and retail. This is a fantastic long-term career opportunity with excellent growth potential for the right candidate.

Main Responsibilities:

* Install, test, and commission various fire alarm systems, primarily in industrial and commercial properties, with some work in domestic settings.

* Carry out installations and modifications of Fire Detection Systems to British Standards, ensuring the highest safety and quality standards.

* Complete both small and large installations, working independently or as part of a team, and provide support to colleagues when needed

* Assist with ad-hoc project work as required.

Knowledge/Requirements:

* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in installing Fire Alarm Systems, including addressable and conventional systems across multiple manufacturers.

* Strong understanding of BS5839-1 and the latest regulatory updates.

* Familiarity with health and safety regulations.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Willingness to travel and work away from home across the UK when necessary.

Beneficial:

* Current CSCS/ECS card.

* Up-to-date IPAF certification.

Qualities:

* Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.

* Positive, self-motivated, and proactive.

* Well-organised and professional in both appearance and communication.

* Ability to keep thorough records, including job sheets, logbooks, and test certificates, detailing progress and completed work.

* Strong time management skills to meet project deadlines.
