Job Description

Qualifications Matric Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred Certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF) are a plus. Requirements Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in the food manufacturing industry. Strong knowledge of inventory management software and systems. - Important Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management systems (WMS). Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and methodologies is a plus. Duties Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished products. Implement and maintain inventory control systems, ensuring accurate tracking and minimizing waste through effective forecasting. Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies promptly. Team Leadership: Manage a diverse team of warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to build a skilled workforce. Facilitate ongoing training programs on food safety, equipment operation, and best practices in warehouse management. Encourage a culture of safety and accountability among staff. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations (e.g., FSSC22000, etc) and internal quality standards. Implement and maintain health and safety protocols, including conducting regular safety audits and training sessions. Respond to safety incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence Process Improvement: Analyze warehouse operations to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and productivity. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse functions. Collaborate with production, quality control, and logistics teams to streamline workflows and optimize resource allocation. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, shipments, and safety inspections, ensuring documentation meets regulatory requirements. Prepare regular reports on warehouse performance metrics, including inventory turnover, order fulfillment rates, and safety incidents, presenting findings to management. Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and strategic improvements. Equipment and Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems. Coordinate repairs and upgrades as necessary to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety standards. Assess needs for new equipment and technology to enhance warehouse operations. Cost Management: Monitor and control warehouse operating expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities. Develop and manage the warehouse budget in collaboration with the operations manager. Evaluate supplier contracts and negotiate terms to ensure favorable pricing and service levels. Customer Service: Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment, enhancing customer satisfaction and retention. Address any warehouse-related customer inquiries or issues promptly and professionally. Work with the sales and distribution teams to ensure alignment on delivery schedules and product availability.
