Student Recruitment Officer

UK Management College are looking for enthusiastic and confident individuals to join our team as a Student Recruitment Officer.

Office Location: Manchester

Salary: Starting from £28,000 Annually


Our business is growing rapidly and as such, we have a number of different roles to fulfill. As this is a role in which you will be dealing with students face to face, this is an office-based role in our new campus in Manchester.

No two days will be the same at UKMC, it will be busy and it is very fast paced. Your role will be to assist with the recruitment of students, aiding in the application, enrolment and induction process.


Job Purpose

  • To support the Student Recruitment Manager to develop and implement strategies to ensure effective student recruitment from the College’s target markets.
  • The postholder will be required to provide a high level of customer service to prospective and admitted students and support the development and implementation of prospective student communication strategies.
  • The post supports the wider objectives of the Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions teams of meeting targets for the quantity, quality, and diversity of students


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Student Recruitment Manager in developing effective student recruitment strategies, ensuring alignment with target profiles for each programme, and utilising student ambassador, alumni, faculty, and existing relationships
  • Act as the first point of contact for enquiries from prospective students via email, telephone and in person
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the grade of the post
  • Keeping skills up-to-date and developing expertise in the key areas of the role, improving expertise through appropriate development and Make initial assessment on candidates’ suitability for their chosen programme in line with the College’s entry requirements, recording details on the College’s CRM (HubSpot), organising consultation schedules, and conducting consultations by email, telephone and in person
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective students and offer holders by dealing with all enquiries promptly and professionally, advising applicants on all aspects of the admissions process, their suitability and programme details, and aiding the conversion of high-quality applicants
  • Contribute to print and online promotional materials to support recruitment activities, working closely with the Programmes Marketing team
  • Work with other Student Recruitment Officers to share best practice and identify, develop or facilitate cross-region/programme activities and opportunities
  • Update CRM (HubSpot) on a daily basis to reflect the ongoing recruitment activity of the team and ensure prospective and admitted students are followed up with in a timely manner
  • Compare recruitment activities and service levels against key competitors to ensure continued improvement to service delivery professional activity
  • Keeping updated on and complying with all College policies and regulations (i.e., Health and Safety, Data Protection, etc.)


Person Specification

  • Educated to degree (or equivalent standard) and/or proven experience at a similar level
  • Proven experience in higher education in a customer focused role building and developing relationships within a multicultural environment
  • Experience working in a large, complex organisation and building relationships to achieve work goals
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to cultural diversity
  • Respect for confidentiality, including the integrity and sensitivity of records
  • Experience of using CRM systems to build effective relationships with target audiences
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage concurrent deadlines and competing priorities, and complete projects on time
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve, and deal with unforeseen problems and circumstances
  • Demonstrable initiative and enthusiasm, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a heavy and diverse workload with multiple deadlines
  • Ability to build and sustain successful working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Good IT skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email (Outlook) and the ability to learn and use other CRM software packages
  • Ability to achieve a high output and work to high standards, taking pride in producing quality work
  • Flexibility and a capacity to adapt to the changing demands of the job and the needs of the team
