Quantity Surveyor

Job description:

GSH Projects are actively seeking a quantity surveyor to join our Major Projects Division based in Weston-super-Mare. Due to continuous growth, we are looking to recruit a QS to cost projects for our commercial clients. A percentage of this role will require attendance on site alongside working with our Project Managers within the office for project delivery.

Duties and responsibilities:

The main duties/responsibilities of this role are:

· Preparation of applications for payment

· Collation and pricing of variations as and when required

· Create and analyse end of project profit and loss reports

· Obtaining variation costs from contractors and issuing valuation payment notices.

· Taking commercial responsibility of the project including any negotiations up to and including final account agreements

· Be responsible for the collection of retention

· Liaise with suppliers and Contractors as necessary with regards to commercial aspects following order placement

· To assist and work closely with the Commercial Director and Project Managers

Qualification / Experience:

Essential:

• You must have proven experience within the commercial construction industry
• Stakeholder management
• Understanding of technical drawings
• Knowledge and awareness of contracts

Desirable:

• Experience working with building regulations and building control
• Knowledge and experience working with PBSA (Purpose Built Student Accommodation)

Further information:

• This role is being offered on a full-time, Permanent basis (37.5 hours P/W) and is based in Weston-super-Mare.
• Immediate start
