Adecco are supporting a London Borough Council in a service role as a Wheelchair Therapist (Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Clinical Scientist)

Job Title: Wheelchair Therapist

Location: South London

Contract Details: Temporary, Full Time

Salary: £26.65 - £30.50 per hour

Conduct comprehensive assessments and prescribe appropriate manual and powered wheelchairs based on individual needs
Modify standard equipment to maximise function and independence
Provide training and advice on wheelchair use, posture, and pressure care
Ensure adherence to clinical and regulatory standards for excellence in service provision
Collaborate with other professionals and organisations to provide holistic care
Oversee treatment plans and provide supervision to support staff
Keep up-to-date with advances in technology, techniques, and equipment
Comply with professional codes of conduct and ethical guidelines
Champion diversity and promote equality of access and outcomesEssential Requirements:

State registered Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or Clinical Scientist
Working knowledge of person-centred service provision
Understanding of the needs of individuals with long-term disabilities
Familiarity with wheelchair prescription, cushions, and special seating
Experience working within the community and collaborating with education and social services
Knowledge of quality assurance systems and clinical excellence regimes
Familiarity with health and social care policies and legislation
Ability to carry out complex wheelchair assessmentsDesirable Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in a similar role within Adult Social Care, or independent sector organisations
Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and collaborating with various stakeholders
Direct clinical leadership experience
Customer service experience
