Java Developer - Oracle XStore

Job Title : Java Developer (Retail Domain) with Oracle Xstore and EFTLink. Location : Remote. Employment Type : Contract. Experience Level : 4 - 5 years. Work Hours : Overlap with UK hours (around 1pm to 10pm IST). Job Description : We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Developer with strong expertise in Oracle Xstore and EFTLink, specifically within the retail domain. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining retail applications and ensuring seamless integration with payment systems. Key Responsibilities : - Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Java-based applications within the retail space, with a focus on POS systems, payment processing, and retail management. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e., business analysts, QA, and project managers) to gather requirements, design technical solutions, and implement new features or enhancements in Oracle Xstore. - Integrate and support Oracle EFTLink for secure payment transactions across various payment platforms. - Troubleshoot and resolve application and integration issues related to Oracle Xstore and EFTLink systems. - Ensure code quality through best practices such as code reviews, testing, and continuous integration. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and act as a subject matter expert for Oracle Xstore and EFTLink. - Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and deployment. - Stay up-to-date with new retail technologies and trends, recommending improvements to ensure systems remain modern and competitive. - Collaborate with infrastructure teams for smooth deployment and performance optimization in live environments. - Ensure compliance with security standards, data protection, and industry regulations. Required Skills and Qualifications : - 4 5 years of professional experience in Java development, including full-stack knowledge. - Strong expertise in Oracle Xstore POS solutions, including configuration, development, and support. - Hands-on experience with Oracle EFTLink for payment processing integration. - Retail domain experience is essential, particularly working with POS systems and payment gateways. - Experience with retail operations, including store management, inventory management, and customer engagement. - Proficient in SQL and relational databases, preferably Oracle. - Familiarity with web services (SOAP/REST) and integrating third-party APIs. - Experience with version control systems (e., Git) and CI/CD pipelines. - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines. Preferred Skills : - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. - Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (e., Docker, Kubernetes). - Familiarity with retail ERP systems or other retail software solutions. - Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
