Dispensing Optician Manager

Salary: £33,000 - £36,000 for 4 days per week

Part Time: 4 Days Per Week (No Weekends)

Working Hours: 8am to 6pm (1hr lunch break)

We are a busy but friendly independent Optometrist practice based in North Somerset. We have a reputation for excellent service, expertise and state of the art equipment. We currently allow a minimum of 45 minutes for eye exams and are not a target driven practice. The practice has recently been renovated and new equipment has been installed throughout. Due to increasing growth, we currently have a vacancy for a dynamic and enthusiastic Dispensing Optician Manager who is keen to manage the day to day running of the practice as well as see to patients. The position would suit an individual with superb clinical and communicative skills looking to further their career by expanding their knowledge within a progressive practice.

Orriss & Low has prided itself on being leaders in introducing innovative technology. Our current dispensers have a varied day with contact lens teaches, dry AMD treatments, using advanced measuring equipment and general spectacle dispensing.

Opportunity:

A unique environment where dispensing opticians get involved with all aspects of patient care.

You will generally work with two Optometrists daily who don’t just do handovers but will actively explain the clinical issues the patient is having and what they think is suitable for the patient.

We have a variety of suppliers, we mainly dispense Hoya, Essilor and Tokai lenses but we are happy to dispense any lens if it is right for the patient.

An opportunity to dispense FEB31st, Silhouette, Stepper, Ray-Ban and Oakley frames. We also stock Maui Jim and Oakley sunglasses.

As a valued member of our small team, you will be involved in dispensing high value optical frames and lenses. There is a scope to enhance our bespoke spectacle frames and tailor-made varifocal lenses. You will help people feel confident about their sense of style and you will be taking part in their vision healthcare.

• Angiography OCT
• Valeda treatment (dry AMD)
• Phoropters

Myopia Management (Orthokeratology, Hoya Miyosmart & Coopervision MiSight) is a growing part of our practice with patients travelling huge distances to be treated.

Patient care is our main focus!

Located south of Bristol and in the lovely village of Winscombe, not far from Weston Super Mare and the M5 motorway. Free car parking available within a 3-minute walk of the practice.
