Job Description

Evolving Sound works with a roster of exceptional composers, producers, orchestras and artists, to deliver class-leading music for theatrical trailers, video game promotion and entertainment marketing. In 8 years, we have established ourselves as a preferred supplier for many of the industry’s leading creative agencies, film studios, broadcasters and streamers, securing regular placements on trailers for tentpole movies, games and premium TV/streaming content. Recent placements of our music include trailers for some of entertainment's biggest releases, including Captain America: Brave New World, Wicked, Twisters, Smile 2, The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power, Alien Romulus, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, The Creator, The Exorcist: Believer, Oppenheimer and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Pt 1.

We’re looking for a full-time Associate Creative Director, to help expand and develop our creative capacity on both the custom and catalogue side. This is a dynamic, creative, client-facing role, suitable for somebody with a great work ethic, who is highly organised and motivated, happy to immerse themselves in the detail of music production, a great communicator and passionate about delivering exceptional standards of content to clients who expect excellence.

The role will involve:

• Coordinating custom music assignments on trailer projects, liaising with clients and composers, working to tight timescales, and dealing in detail with the production demands of these exacting requests, ensuring they are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

• Interpreting client briefs and notes and presenting them to composers in a form that enables them to deliver exceptional content quickly, using terminology that gives composers clarity and detail to work with.

• Providing detailed feedback to composers in order to refine, update and improve submissions, often using musical terminology and offering detailed notes on production.

• Collating, mastering and tagging audio files for delivery to clients on short turnaround projects.

• Developing creative concepts for albums and playlists, pushing the boundaries of genres and styles to constantly keep our catalogue fresh and innovative.

• Keeping abreast of developments and trends across the ever-shifting landscape of trailer music, and reflecting these in our creative output.

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

Essential

• Be personable, enthusiastic and reliable,

• Have 4+ years experience working with music in a professional capacity, ideally in a sync environment (eg. composer, music supervisor, producer, coordinator, or sync manager),

• Have a keen awareness of deadlines and timescales and consistently respond promptly to client requests,

• Be happy working on tight-turnaround customs, sometimes outside traditional office hours, adapting to shifting client needs under pressure,

• Have great communication and creative writing skills, supporting high-level interaction with clients and composers, as well as marketing-focused and promotional messaging,

• Be happy working autonomously without hands-on supervision, but also be comfortable in a team environment, seeking internal support when requests fall outside their remit,

• Have a genuine passion for music, movies, trailers and music sync,

• Have a constructive and helpful ‘muck-in’ attitude that helps support a small team,

• Be detail orientated and highly organized,

• Be familiar with music production software and techniques, licensing and delivery formats,

Nice to Have

• Ideally have an understanding of trailer music and how it’s used in entertainment marketing,

• Ideally be familiar with the LA trailer agencies and have an outline understanding of the trailer production process.

What We Offer:

• The opportunity to work with a leading music company at the forefront of trailer music innovation, on some of the industry’s most high-profile campaigns.

• A collaborative and creative work environment.

• Opportunities for professional growth and creative input.

• A competitive salary.
