Assistant Winemaker

Candidate Requirements: A BScAgric or BAgric Viticulture and Oenology (Stellenbosch University or Elsenburg Agricultural College) Must have relevant experience in a cellar Must have good wine knowledge Should be fluent in Afrikaans and English Should be a passionate team player with good interpersonal skills Must have a valid driving licence is a requirement Must be able to drive a forklift Should be able to work under pressure Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays when required (especially during harvest) Responsibilities Assist the head winemaker with daily cellar activities to ensure that the best possible wines are produced. Manage the cellar team alongside the head winemaker. Perform quality and hygiene control. Responsible for administration regarding SAWIS, IPW certification, FSA audit, BMV and 5-S. Inventory control. Assist at wine fairs and festivals. Assist at wine club events. Handle competition entry administration. Any other wine-related activities.
