Reports To Senior Director, Head of Global EHS&S for TAPI Primary purpose of the position The TAPI Health, IH & Product Stewardship Ass. Director will report to the Head of Global EHS&S for TAPI. He/She will support the implementation and installation of TAPI EHS&S management system to achieve Corporate EHS&S excellence goals and ensure compliance in TAPI sites. In his/her area of responsibilities, he/she provides EHS&S technical and managerial support to TAPI facilities, provide direction to establish EHS&S excellence culture. Mentoring and collaborating with site EHS&S team, staff and plant leadership teams on the integration of standard practices into daily operations. He/She assess and mitigate risks by conducting EHS&S audits and assessments (internal and external), preparing remediation plans, and training EHS&S staff to build appropriate Environmental and General EHS&S expertise and capabilities. Main responsibilities and activities The TAPI Health, IH & Product Stewardship Ass. Director will ensure that TAPI’s EHS&S standards, guidelines, processes and best practices are fully and effectively implemented in the segment and that all EHS&S staff has the capability, training and behaviors to effectively execute all EHS&S tasks as needed. As member of Global EHS&S team, she/he will ensure an effective collaboration between all parts of EHS&S locally and regionally. As a member of TAPI, he/she will be providing technical and managerial support to TAPI facilities and global projects in particular: Contribute to the development and endorsement of TAPI’s Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) strategy. Support EHS&S director in monitoring, assessing business impacts, determining necessary actions, and communicating to stakeholders changing or emerging laws and regulations and action plans. Support the EHS&S Head in directing the sites to meet TEVA business health, Industrial Hygiene and Product Stewardship targets. Support EHS&S Head in providing solutions, developing, measuring, analyzing, and communicating key performance indicators and metrics. Support TAPI Sites ensuring full and effective implementation of the policy and procedures dictated by Global EHS&S. Track developments and trends in health, Industrial Hygiene and Product Stewardship related hazards to support mitigation of risks. Support TAPI Sites initiatives, projects and annual operating plan (AOP) to execute the Global EHS&S strategy identifying potential opportunities for increased synergies and efficiencies, in line with segment objectives and targets, capital planning, and budget. Participate in Global EHS&S audits. Support TAPI Sites on EHS&S events investigations and related CAPA Plans, and guide TAPI Sites on the identification of corrective/preventive actions and follow up on their implementation. Support TAPI sites in implementation, verification and realization of TAPI’s global EHS&S MS and developing Emergency plans. Drive effective communications between all parts of the EHS&S organization. Monitor developments and trends in global safety health, hygiene regulations, product stewardship and participating in regulatory advocacy efforts, as appropriate. General Health & IH related responsibilities Support the identification and proactive management of health risks generated from production processes or other chemical, biological, or physical agents. Support the sites’ health, IH and ergonomic improvement and sampling plans. Developing and continuously improving global standards, enabling tools and support sites actions to improve engineered controls in line with TAPI Engineering guidelines and requirements. Ensuring implementation of consistent Hazard Communication processes and the implementation of appropriate Engineering Controls and consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Early identification of emerging regulations and preparation for remediation plan and developing gap/impact assessments in the Health and Industrial Hygiene. Periodically review performance indicators enabling trends to be identified, elucidated and rectified in a timely manner. Establishing programs and business processes that promote continuous improvement in safety health and hygiene across TAPI. Improving health, IH and product stewardship knowledge and competency at all levels of the organization. Reporting to internal and external stakeholders on TAPI’s safety, health and hygiene progress. Undertaking Global EHSS Audits. Lead TAPI’s Occupational Hygiene Technical Advisory Committee (OHTAC). Product Stewardship responsibilities Develop and maintain the eSDS (including dangerous goods determination) and labelling TAPI database (WERCS as a tool). Support Sites to ensure the suppliers’ global eSDS database is maintained. Coordinate the SDS and labels development and maintenance with TAPI’s 3rd party service provider. Lead/Coordinate the development of health-based exposure limits, such as occupational exposure limits and acceptable daily exposures with the 3rd party service provider. Coordinate industrial toxicology support to the Sites (e.g. providing input on potential health effects from chemical exposures, addressing employees concerns regarding chemicals handled, etc). Lead and coordinate the development of permitted no-effect concentrations (PNECs). Coordinate compliance of new chemicals registrations and notifications (e.g. REACH and/or equivalent regulations) with Sites. Early identification of emerging regulations and preparation for remediation plan and developing gap/impact assessments in product Stewardship. Represent TAPI at trade associations, promote collaboration between companies develop stronger relationships, share conclusions, trends and advance potential impact to TAPI operations. Focal Point For the area selected, be the specific EHS&S focal point of the sites/offices to maintain support and collaboration within the whole TAPI organization. Focus on TAPI’s true north regarding EHS&S and raise issues from the sites/offices in a way to support them for success. Requirements At least 7 years’ of practical industrial experience with increasing levels of authority and responsibility, including both site and corporate experience with at least 3 years in a managerial function role in pharma and/or chemical industry with high EHS&S standards or similar/higher risk hazards. Extensive experience in development and installation of health, hygiene and product stewardship management systems. Regional or multisite experience in leading EHS&S related matters, or operations in a large site (>1000 FTEs) is a plus. Education and Knowledge Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene or related field. Advanced knowledge and practical experience (at least 5 years) in the API Production and/or in Pharmaceutical operations. Additional certificates in Industrial Hygiene and/or Product Stewardship is an advantage. Knowledge and understanding of global Health, Hygiene, toxicology and Product Stewardship Regulations. Sound knowledge on SDS(e) and label regulatory requirements. Skills and Capabilities: Ability to create a clear and concise strategic view in a complex working environment. Strong analytical capabilities. Business acumen desired. Strong interpersonal communication and influencing skills to drive global initiatives.
