About the role

We are seeking HD Fitters to join our Thiess Western Region Maintenance hub located in Hazelmere, working a 7/7 roster rotating dayshift and nightshift. The Maintenance Hub is designed to support repairs and refurbish a variety of Mining Equipment and Components within Thiess and subsidiary internal Asset refurbishment requirements as well as external key Tier 1 mining customers.

With a strong pipeline of machine refurbishments including major component changes on a fleet of CAT 793F's, this position also offers a great working atmosphere with potential to grow your career into any aspect of maintenance and asset management within the Thiess group.

Your responsibilities will include:

• The disassembly, inspection and assembly of large-scale mobile mining equipment components in accordance with OEM maintenance system documentation & specifications


• Source technical information from relevant reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer-based systems


• Maintaining the workshop area to a high standard of housekeeping & organisation


• Working within a dedicated team to deliver a high level of workmanship

About you

• Trade Qualified Plant Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment) or equivalent


• Valid WA Driver’s License


• Sound experience in component rebuilds and machine overhauls


• Must be well organised, methodical and have an eye for detail


• A demonstrated commitment to safety, safe work practices & risk awareness
