About the role


As our next Autonomous Technician, reporting to the Autonomy & Technology Leading Hand, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.


The Lake Vermont Coal Project is situated in Dysart, North Queensland. You will work a 7/7 Rotating day/night roster 12.50 hour shifts.


In this role, your responsibilities will include:



  • Maintain, fault find and repair Autonomous Operating Systems on our Autonomous Drill and Semi-Autonomous Dozer fleets

  • Perform base machine repairs and servicing

  • Respond to breakdowns on site autonomous and network equipment

  • Monitor, position and maintain communication trailers

  • Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals, technical bulletins, OEM and computer-based systems

  • Work safely and comply with the Site Safety Health and Management System

  • Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times

  • Conduct required inspections to maximise equipment utilization



About you


To be successful in this role you are required to have:



  • Heavy Mobile Plant Trade, Electrical Trade, Auto Electrical Trade or Communication Technician

  • At least 5 years’ experience in mining maintenance

  • Ability to work individually and as part of a team

  • Ability to work across a broad range of daily tasks

  • Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks

  • Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety

  • Experience in the following/similar systems will be highly desirable:


  • Autonomous Haulage, Drilling or Dozer systems

  • CAT Terrain

  • Mine 4D

  • Repeater trailer systems
