Job Description
Our client is looking for a skilled Divisional Materials Manager to oversee the management of election materials at their Out-posted Centre (OPC) during the upcoming election starting in Mid-November in Invermay Park. The OPC serves as the main hub for handling and distributing election materials, including the secure management of ballot papers. This role is critical to ensuring smooth logistics and secure processes throughout the election period.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and organisation of over 600 types of election materials.
- Safeguard the handling and distribution of sensitive materials, including ballot papers.
- Supervise and guide temporary staff to meet election timelines and objectives.
- Collaborate with the Site Manager and logistics team to manage secure and non-secure materials within the OPC.
- Ensure strict compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and maintain a safe work environment.
- Monitor and update internal inventory management systems to ensure accurate reporting.
About the role:
- Extended shifts, including evening, weekend, may be required leading up to the election
- Ability to manually handle materials weighing up to 20kg.
Requirements:
- Experience in logistics, inventory management, or project leadership.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of WHS practices and a commitment to workplace safety.
- Strong communication skills and sound decision-making abilities.
- Australian citizenship, valid driver's license, and willingness to undergo a police check.
- Access to a registered and insured vehicle, and willingness to use a mobile phone for work purposes.
