About The Role
Thiess invites applicants to apply for the position of Roving Field Service Plant Mechanic, based at our Mt Thorley facility. As part of the roving field service team, you will support Thiess and client operations from the comfort of your modern, company-provided take-home vehicle, on a dayshift only, weekday roster.
We have several different roster options available to suit your lifestyle.
As part of the roving field service team, some of your duties will include:
Advanced breakdown and failure diagnostics on equipment
Machine overhauls and planned component changes
Mobilisation of fleets into and between our projects
Routine servicing, repair, and maintenance of mobile mining equipment on multiple Thiess and client sites
Conducting reliability inspections to ensure maximum equipment reliability is maintained.
For the right person, this role will also provide growth opportunities, including but not limited to the below.

About You
This position will suit someone who has experience maintaining the following machinery:
Caterpillar Haul Trucks
Caterpillar Loader
Caterpillar tracked and ancillary equipment.
Komatsu tracked equipment.
Experience maintaining Liebherr Excavators (not essential but highly regarded)
Position requirements
Trade Certificate as a Plant Mechanic or equivalent
Valid Australian Drivers licence
Valid Australian Citizenship or visa
Post-trade experience in maintenance, diagnosis, component changeouts, and servicing of heavy earth moving equipment.
Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
Any of the following will be highly regarded:
Experience maintaining Liebherr Excavators
Working a heights
MDG25
High Risk Work Licence - WP, DG, LF etc
