We are seeking full-time Sign Language Interpreters (SLI) for the 2024/2025 school year in Apple Valley, CA. This temporary role begins on September 2, 2024, and runs through December 20, 2024, with the possibility of extending hours beyond the initial term. Multiple openings are available. The position is onsite only, and candidates must hold active CA ASL credentials. This role offers 30 hours per week, with potential for additional hours if desired.

Position Details:

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation services for students and staff
• Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers or educators
• Support classroom activities and educational programs by interpreting spoken language into ASL
• Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to ensure students' communication needs are met
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications:

• Active CA ASL credentials
• Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting preferred
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Ability to work onsite and manage responsibilities effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
